Here at The Chen, we are committed to embedding sustainability into every facet of our daily operations. We recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey and are continually striving to reduce our carbon footprint at every opportunity.  

Single Use Plastics

We are delighted to share our ongoing commitment to reducing single-use plastics in our guest rooms. As part of this initiative, we have made a significant decision to eliminate single-use amenities, taking a bold step towards a plastic-free environment.

We understand the importance of preserving our planet for future generations. By removing single-use plastic amenities and replacing with eco-friendly pump dispensers or biodegradable options, we are significantly reducing our environmental footprint.

Eco- Conscious Initiatives

At The Chen, we are proud to be continually developing ways to reduce our environmental impact.

A few of the ways we are achieving this so far is by:

  • Water saving initiatives where guests are encouraged to re-use bathroom towels
  • Room temperatures are set to 23 degrees for optimal efficiency and comfort
  • Recycled Rainwater is utilised in hotel toilet cisterns
  • Single use plastic water bottles are replaced with re-usable glass bottles

Community Support

We are committed to maintaining strong connections with our local community and give back wherever possible.

  • Donation of phased-out single use bathroom amenities to Vincent Care
  • Partnered with MACV  - Just In Time project; to facilitate training and education opportunities for those less privileged in our local community
  • Donate vouchers to local community fundraisers

Accessibility

At The Chen – Art Series, we strive to accommodate the diverse needs of all our guests, including those with mobility challenges. We currently have two (2) dedicated accessible rooms, and are designed with spacious layouts to provide ease of movement and comfort for all guests.

These suites feature wide doorways and corridors, allowing for easy navigation with mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers. The open-plan design ensures that there are no barriers or tight spaces that could impede movement within the studio style layout and accessible bathrooms.

We understand that external access is crucial for guests requiring mobility assistance, and offer two (2) dedicated special access car park spaces, located on the same floor as the guest rooms. This will ensure smooth and safe passage for all.

Additionally, our friendly staff are available around the clock to assist with any specific accessibility needs or requests to ensure that every guest enjoys a comfortable and memorable stay with us.
